2024 China (Xiamen) International Cross-border E-commerce Exhibition opens
On June 26, the 2024 China (Xiamen) International Cross-border E-commerce Expo grandly opened at the Xiamen International Convention and Exhibition Center. Initiated by the Xiamen Municipal Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and approved by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the 2024 China Cross-border E-commerce Expo received strong support from the Foreign Trade Development Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, the CCPIT Trade Promotion and Exchange Center, the CCPIT Grain Industry Sub-Council, the World Trade Centers Association, the EU-China Committee, the RCEP Industrial Cooperation Committee, the China Association for Trade in Services, and the China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association.Xiamen boasts a well-developed cross-border e-commerce ecosystem and convenient cross-border e-commerce service chains, making cross-border e-commerce a key growth driver for Xiamen's foreign trade. Leveraging their accumulated experience in cross-border e-commerce over the years, the Xiamen Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Xiamen Chamber of International Commerce launched the inaugural Xiamen International Cross-border E-commerce Exhibition. After three years of development, the exhibition has become one of the most comprehensive cross-border e-commerce exhibitions in China, encompassing a wide range of industries.
This exhibition leverages the role of cross-border e-commerce in empowering industrial transformation and upgrading, highlighting the strengths of advantageous industrial clusters and fostering deeper cross-industry integration. The cross-border product selection area showcases high-quality and renowned products from 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across China. From electronics and electrical appliances from Guangdong to cashmere products from Inner Mongolia, from small commodities from Yiwu to Yongchun incense and clothing from Shishi, shoes and apparel from Jinjiang, and bathroom hardware from Xiamen, as well as sporting goods, power tools, and rattan and iron crafts to furniture, department stores, and outdoor gear, the exhibition connects premium cross-border goods from around the world and across the country. The exhibition also highlights new products and emerging business formats, inviting specialized and innovative enterprises to showcase a wide range of novel and unique products at the China Cross-border Exhibition, leading the way in international cross-border trade. The exhibition also features the 2024 Fujian Industrial Belt New Business Opportunities event, helping sellers explore opportunities in the Fujian Industrial Belt. By leveraging cross-border e-commerce and industrial belts, the exhibition aims to empower more factory-based small and medium-sized enterprises to seize cross-border e-commerce B2B opportunities, expand beyond their existing business model, and enter the international market, thereby establishing a stable and high-quality international and domestic supply chain. At the same time, this year's China Cross-border E-commerce Expo creatively created a new model of "cross-border e-commerce + live broadcast". By introducing live broadcast ecological institutions such as TikTok and Alibaba International Station, it helps merchants to efficiently reach overseas end customers and expand sales channels by leveraging traffic. It is an event that covers the "traditional + emerging" new model and builds a new "platform + live broadcast" channel.
The China Cross-Border E-Commerce Exhibition has become a high-end economic and trade service platform integrating product display, technical exchange, and trade matchmaking, promoting the integration and synergy of the dual circulation. The exhibition received strong support and widespread participation from international organizations in China. Dozens of foreign embassies, consulates, and commercial organizations in China, including those from Japan, South Korea, Thailand, France, Uganda, Mexico, Austria, and Zambia, showcased local specialty products in the import goods display area of the China Cross-Border E-Commerce Exhibition. General Technology Group, a Fortune Global 500 company and a key state-owned enterprise, and the Xiamen BRICS Office jointly hosted the "BRICS + Belt and Road" Cross-Border E-Commerce Cooperation and Exchange Conference. Simultaneously, the inaugural Xiamen International Geographical Indication Products Fair was held concurrently with the China Cross-Border E-Commerce Exhibition. This first-ever joint presence of cross-border e-commerce and geographical indication products will help these products internationalize and expand globally. It represents a new exploration of how cross-border e-commerce can empower new industrial development and is another innovative initiative by Xiamen City to leverage new cross-border momentum to help businesses transition to new sectors and expand cross-border cooperation.
