2023 China (Xiamen) International Cross-Border E-commerce Expo Review
On June 17, 2023, the 2023 China (Xiamen) International Cross-Border E-commerce Expo (ICEIE), under the theme "Cross-Border Connectivity, Goods to the World," concluded successfully at the Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center.
The exhibition achieved remarkable results. According to incomplete statistics, the total foot traffic reached 76,885 visits, intended orders generated during the event amounted to RMB 4.026 billion, and cumulative media exposure surpassed 600 million. The expo garnered widespread attention from various sectors, with China Central Television (CCTV) featuring a prime-time report. Comprehensive, multi-angle, and in-depth coverage was provided by over 100 mainstream domestic media outlets, including Xinhua News Agency, People's Daily, China National Radio News, China News Service, Economic Daily, China International Business News, and China Business News, alongside nearly 400 renowned overseas comprehensive news media outlets.
The exhibition spanned over 60,000 square meters, featuring more than 2,000 international standard booths. It was structured into three main sections: the Cross-Border Product Selection Zone, the Cross-Border Platforms & Comprehensive Service Providers Zone, and the Cross-Border Import (International) Zone. The scope covered the entire cross-border e-commerce industry chain, showcasing over 50 characteristic industrial belts from across China and more than 2,000 high-quality suppliers. Additionally, hundreds of service providers and over 50 mainstream cross-border e-commerce platforms, such as Alibaba International Station and Amazon Global Selling, were present.
Twenty high-level concurrent forums and conferences were held. Nearly 20 provinces and cities, including Shanxi, Shaanxi, Jilin, Inner Mongolia, Jinjiang, and Shishi, set up local characteristic pavilions. The expo centrally displayed China's advantageous industrial belts and high-quality cross-border products. Beyond Xiamen's characteristic industries like lighting, sporting goods, apparel, footwear, and bags, the exhibition debuted featured pavilions including the Province of Honor Pavilion (Shanxi), City of Honor Pavilion (Quanzhou), and industrial belt pavilions for provinces like Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia, and Jilin.
The Quanzhou Pavilion assembled over 70 local enterprises from Jinjiang, Nan'an, Shishi, Dehua, and Anxi, covering nearly 1,000 square meters. It showcased the urban industrial belts of Quanzhou, a powerhouse in cross-border e-commerce. The dedicated Jinjiang section alone displayed over 1,500 types of products, including footwear, apparel, swimwear, maternity & infant care products, color printing, and magnetic materials. On the opening day alone, it received over 1,600 purchasers and secured 540 preliminary intent agreements.
By integrating resources and connecting supply with demand, ICEIE facilitated precise matching between brands and professional sellers, providing a convenient channel and professional platform for Chinese brands expanding globally.
